Facebook Fan Pages Now Link to Twitter

If you’re anything like me, you were very disappointed when you found that Facebook fan pages could not be linked to you or your businesses’ Twitter account. The reason is pretty simple- Facebook profiles are for people and if you want to represent your business in any way, you have to do that through a page or the Facebook police will get you.

How well do you know your customers?

True story….

Was working at agency and had a meeting with a potential new client. His business was cleaning — carpets, upholstery, etc. We held a meeting in which he explained how he wanted to get more customers (big shock);  “get more of the same folks I currently have” is how he worded it if memory serves me.

Ok, I’m processing this in my head… ‘he wants more customers like the ones he currently has… fine.’

2010 Automotive Ad Awards

Ok, so the Oscars and the Grammy Awards have been doled out for the year… what’s next on the Awards docket you ask?

Why it’s the 2010 Nielsen Automotive Advertising Awards of course. The awards, which will be handed out this Tuesday, March 31st at at the opening of the 2010 New York Auto Show, are broken down into three (3) categories.

Best Sales Event Ad (finalists):

  • Toyota – Toyotathon ‘Musical Chairs’
  • Volkswagen – ‘Sign Then Drive Event’
  • Ford/Lincoln/Mercury – ‘Recycle Your Ride’

Best Green Ad (finalists):

  • More than 400 million active users
  • Half of all active users log on to Facebook every day
  • More than 35 million update their status every day
  • More than 5 billion pieces of content shared each week
  • 70% of users are outside the US
  • Over 100 million users access their Facebook page via their cell phone
  • These same 100 million are twice as active as those who don’t use their cell phone to access their account
