Earlier this week, I told you of the nominees for the 2010 Nielsen Automotive Advertising Awards.

If you recall yours truly was not exactly blown away by any of the spots. My hope was that the industry was collectively playing it cool and down the middle amidst the worst economic crisis in a generation… or two.

Two days ago the winners were announced and (yawn) here they are…

Best Sales Event Ad
Toyota: Toyotathon “Musical Chairs”

Best Green Ad
Ford: Drive One “Christopher Leaves”

And last but not least…

So, there you have it… the winners in all their glory.

Here’s hoping the economy keeps getting better which in turn lessens the grip automakers clearly have on their creative agencies…
