A recent article in the WSJ shared some statistics on cable consumption and how more people are using their cable’s high speed Internet connect to consume “traditional” TV.

According the the author, in 2008 some 900,000 US home chose Web TV only.  Not impressed with 0.5% of the US population?  Did you know that 8% of TV viewers watch at least one show online per week, up from 6% in 2008? (Leichtman Research).  More importantly, of this growing 8%, they consumed less “traditional” TV.

Increased broadband access will increase the quality of expeirience as well as the number of  viewers who choose Web TV only.
