Online Retail Among Rising Mobile Apps

A recent study by comScore MobiLens™ shows some rather startling numbers when it comes to the number of folks using Smartphone Apps. According to the study, from April ‘09 to April ‘10, the total number of mobile application users in the United States increased by 28%.

The fastest growing mobile app was for Social Networking/Social Media, which saw an increase of 240% during this time frame.

Google just unveiled a Smartphone that will knock the socks off of your mobile internet.

Nexus One is Google’s smooth push for more consumer products.

It’s about as light as a Swiss army knife and uses a Qualcomm processor. The 3.7-inch, touch-screen display has deep contrasts with a color-changing track ball that changes color when you receive a message.

According to Velti.com, mobile marketing agencies and brands will need to adapt their campaigns to reach a wider audience in coming years.

Mobile Marketing Watch (MMW) responded to this prediction saying advertisers would have to compete with blurring lines of cell phone accessories such as headsets.

“This means it’s extremely important to think of mobile marketing opportunities as more than just those designed for smartphones and other mobile handsets,” the analyst remarked.

Although the market will be expanding, Smartphones will still be more expensive.
