Mobile marketing is heating 2010 up before it even begins. Soon, you’ll have healthcare apps that will help diagnose illnesses, apps that disable texting while driving, and mobile Skype!

These are all expected in the coming New Year. As you may remember in our previous article about QR-Code, mobile phones are beginning to conquer scanning QR-Codes. Text messaging has outpaced voice calling as the pre-eminent means of communication on mobile devices. Accoring to Nielsen in Q1 2009, the average US mobile subscriber sent or received 486 text messages per month but made just 182 calls.

Does this mean my parents text more than call?  Nielsen data shows that heavy texting is not uniform across all mobile users, further users ages 13 to 24 text disproportionately more than those
